What a CCTV drain survey is
A waterproof inspection camera is fed into the drain from an access point and pushed along the pipe. The live picture shows the condition of the pipework from the inside: cracks, displaced joints, roots, collapses and build-up, along with where along the run each problem is.
When a survey is worth doing
- A drain keeps blocking after being cleared
- There are persistent smells, damp, or sinking ground near a drain run
- You suspect a pipe is cracked, broken or collapsed
- You’re planning an extension or other work near an existing drain
- Commercial premises have ongoing drainage problems that need investigating properly
Diagnosis first, then the fix
Seeing inside the pipe means the next step is based on what’s actually there, not on guesswork. That might be jetting to clear a build-up, a localised repair to one damaged section, or a larger repair where the pipe has failed along its length.
It also avoids digging up a garden or driveway to look for a problem that the camera can locate first.
Practical experience and the right equipment
MCR combines hands-on experience in drainage, plumbing and engineering with professional inspection equipment, including thermal imaging where appropriate. The aim is to identify the cause of the problem properly before recommending any work.
Domestic and commercial
Surveys for homeowners, landlords and residential properties, as well as businesses, property managers and commercial premises across Glasgow, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and the Central Belt.
